Partners HealthCare physicians will be available throughout the weekend to answer your questions regarding a number of health topics including: pain management, heart health, primary care and family health, cosmetic surgery, mental health, foot care, skin care, imaging techniques, and cancer therapies.

"Ask a Doctor" is intended to serve as a limited consultation to individuals who meet with an "Ask a Doctor" physician. During the "Ask a Doctor" consultation, the physician will communicate general medical information to individuals who present health-related questions. Consultations with "Ask a Doctor" physicians do not create a doctor-patient relationship and should not replace the medical advice of a treating physician.

Brigham and Women's Hospital: Cardiovascular Screening

The Brigham and Women's Hospital Cardiovascular Wellness Service is offering free cardiovascular screenings both Saturday and Sunday. Visit our exhibit to learn more about your risk for heart and vascular diseases through screenings that will give you important numbers for blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), glucose, and cholesterol - as well as the opportunity to review your numbers with one of our nurses.

Brigham and Women's Hospital: Kidney Screening

Chronic kidney disease is a serious health problem in the United States, affecting 14 percent of the adult population. A small percentage of men and women are not even aware that their kidneys have reached the late stages of kidney failure. To raise awareness of kidney diseases, a free kidney health screening will be available at the BWH exhibit. This screening will include a blood pressure check, diabetes evaluation, and an urinalysis. Physicians will be on site for consultation with the screening results.

Do you have tired, swollen, or painful legs? If so, visit the Brigham and Women's Hospital exhibit for your free leg screening that can help identify a vascular condition. You can find out if you are a candidate for a minimally invasive technology that can successfully treat this condition. Brigham and Women's Vein Care specialists, experts in the symptoms of varicose vein conditions, will be on-hand to discuss treatment options.

Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary: Dizziness Screening

On-Going Exhibit Sat. 10-12 and 2-4, Sun. 2-4, Hall B Booth 1125

One in three people will experience dizziness in their lifetime. Mass. Eye and Ear will perform a dizziness screen (dynamic visual acuity) to test your inner ear balance system. The inner ear and brain cooperate to help maintain stability while standing and walking. Stability will be tested using the Neurocom VSR.

Carotid artery disease typically occurs when the carotid arteries, the main blood vessels to the brain, develop a buildup of plaque caused by atherosclerosis, or a hardening of the arteries. An ultrasound of the carotid arteries, will be available to check for blood flow and blockages. Eligibility requirements must be met.
